In Farthest Frontier, the main objective of the players is to build their town. Initially, the journey begins with only a handful of workers in the wilderness, where players find nothing except Natural resources. These natural resources can be used to build structures and collect food during the initial stages. After you unlock farming crops, you can set crop fields. However, planting crops in the field is not all you need to do. You have to protect your crops from wild animals. This guide will help you know how to protect crops in Farthest Frontier.
Guide to Protect Crop Fields in Farthest Frontier- How to do?
In Farthest Frontier, Crop Fields unlock considerably early. Players can start farming crops once they build the essential structures of the initial stage of the game like Shelters, Forager’s Shack, Hunter Cabin, Smoke House, etc. you can place several crop fields and apply Crop Rotation. Crop Rotation means once the field is ready, if you click on the crop field, you’ll get the Crop Field menu (as shown below), and you can choose three crops for three seasons. For example, choose a crop with high hit tolerance for the first one; next, choose a crop with low cold tolerance in the middle slot; and finally, choose a crop with high cold tolerance in the last slot.
Growing crops will solve the food problem of your villagers, but you need to protect the planted crops so wild animals don’t destroy them. If you leave your crop fields without protection, you’ll find animals entering your field and destroying your crops. To protect your crops and prevent the wild animals from destroying the crops, you need to build Fences or Fieldstone Walls around the crop fields. Both these walls prevent animals enter your field.
To make a Fence or Fieldstone Wall follow the below steps-
- Go to the Buildings menu
- Click on Walls and Roads
- You’ll find the Fence and Fieldstone Wall icons there. The first icon is of Fence, and the second is Fieldstone Wall.
- Select the one you want to make and build it around your fields.
- Make a gate to let the farmers enter the field.
Once your walls are ready, your crops are safe. No more wild animals can enter your crop fields.
That’s all you need to know about protecting crops from wild animals in Farthest Frontier.
