Apex Legends was a success from the days of the initial launch, but the game has been gaining momentum with the launch of the last two seasons. With the launch of each new season, the game breaks its own record of peak concurrent players. Like the rest of the world, Apex Legends is also a massive success in Egypt, but there is an issue that’s yet to be acknowledged by the devs Respawn Entertainment.
Players in Egypt cannot matchmake with players outside the country. For most part, the game is playable as long as they are matched with other Egyptian players, but playing with users from another country leads to the Apex Legends code leaf error.
The reason for this error is the country’s network policy to block the port 37215, which incidentally is used by Apex Legends for some operations during the game. As per our research, this port was blocked by default in Egypt since 2017 when there was an attempt to hack the country’s network.
The error code Leaf is widespread in Egypt and the blocked port is causing a lot of other issues with the game besides the foreign matchmaking. Players have been struggling with this issue for months without any sight of fix.
From the way things stand now, it seems highly unlikely that Apex Legends would stop using the port in question as that would mean modifying a lot of things, which in turn can cause other bugs. We just hope that the devs find some way to help the fans in Egypt so they can have a fun time with the game.
