The Dendro Hypostasis is the new world boss added in Version 3.2 of Genshin Impact and it drops ascension materials for Nahida whose banner is now live. Players can farm this boss from today onwards and they will need a total of 43 of its boss drops to fully ascend Nahida to Level 90. In this article, we’ll guide players on how to defeat this boss easily and what team comps they can use for it.
Dendro Hypostasis Guide in Genshin Impact 3.2
The Dendro Hypostasis might be the second Hypostsasis that uses stall tactics in the sense it doesn’t go into a vulnerable state often and when it does, it doesn’t stay in that state for long. Players have to dodge its attacks and attack in return at the same time if they want the fight to go efficiently.
As for team comps, you’ll need a Dendro and Electro teammate to quickly close the fight. A Dendro bow user like Collei or Tighnari is recommended as you won’t be using your Dendro unit for the majority of the fight but you’ll still need quick ranged Dendro application at the end of it for the Revival Phase of the boss.
In its Revival Phase, the Dendro Hypostasis will spawn three dark Cores which you can only interact with using Dendro. Using Dendro will purify and sprout the Cores back to life- similar to using Dendro on Burned Tri-Lakshana Creatures. Once revived, you can use Electro on them to activate them which will quickly purify the corrupted boss and earn you your rewards.
You’ll also need a Pyro user to deal with a phase of the boss where it encircles the space around it with thorns which can either entrap your character within or lock them outside. To get over this thorn, it just needs to be burned- like any other thorn in the game.
As for the other last teammate, we recommend a shielder like Zhongli who has a long shield up-time and doesn’t interfere with your team’s reactions. We don’t recommend a Hydro unit for the team if you’re looking to use Bloom reactions though if you have a Hyperbloom or Burgeon team in mind then it’s doable.
You cannot expect the Boss to be damaged from pure Bloom reactions alone as the Dendro Cores take a long time to burst- by that time the boss will become invulnerable again. Hyperbloom teams cannot be trusted and while Burgeon teams are good you have limited teammate options for a Burgeon team as Thoma is the only character that synergises with Burgeon in the current meta.
You can easily dodge most of the boss’ attacks as you’ll see them coming from a mile away- unless you decide to go melee and tank them with a shield. Ideally, you don’t want any melee characters in your team and having high EM on your main DPS for the fight also helps as the boss will constantly have the Dendro aura on it when it’s vulnerable. Thus, bow and catalyst users are recommended- at least when it comes to Pyro, Electro and Dendro.
Your main DPS can be either a Pyro user or an Electro user as the boss is immune to Dendro. For Pyro, your options are Amber, Yoimiya and Yanfei. For Electro, you can use Fischl, Lisa or Yae Miko. You can also use characters like Raiden, Keqing, Diluc and Hu Tao as they all have short skill CDs and/or can consistently apply their respective elements to the enemy. If you’re struggling with survival, you can also use units like Kuki Shinobu or Dori for healing.
