Genshin Impact Version 3.0 has finally begun its second phase with the new character banner reruns and the release of Dori who’s a new 4-star electro claymore character. People have been hyped for her release for many reasons.
Dori is a chibi character and she wields her claymore using her electro genie. Her attack and character animations are fun and unique and set her apart from most characters in the game. Her VAs have also done a phenomenal and rather hilarious job with her character voice lines so she’ll be a fun character to use at least.
But what about her kit and viability as a playable unit? Read on to find out our first impressions and know about a nifty leak which will let you know whether she’s worth pulling or not in this patch.
Dori’s First Impressions
This mora-grubbing businesswoman might not be as bang for the buck as you might expect. While she sells quality goods and would do anything for mora and good business, her kit isn’t worth spending for. Dori is an electro support whose main abilities are healing and energy recharge and she only excels in one of those roles reliably.
Role and Viability as a Support
Her overall damage is miserable even with EM and buff considerations. Her healing is at least better and more reliable than Kuki Shinobu’s. She is barely decent as an electro reaction support as even Kuki does a better job than her. As for her ability to restore energy to active characters during her burst phase- it’s noticeable but still not great. You’ll still need to build ER on your other characters.
At the end of the day, Fischl is still a better battery than she will ever be. Her only viability is if you need an electro character who can heal tons and still have some minimal utility as a battery for your team. She best functions in Physical Eula comps followed by Quicken comps. She isn’t viable for Hyperbloom teams unless the player is skilled at moving around to trigger the Bloom buds during combat using her burst and E skill.
The reason most players won’t build her even as a healer is because there already exist better units that players have likely already built. Diona can serve as a battery, healer, shielder and Cryo support all at once in Physical Eula teams. Fischl can serve as both support or dps while being a battery in general.
Even Kuki Shinobu is a better unit than Dori due to her role as a healer and an electro application and reaction support. Since Kuki can also be built with EM to deal tons of damage in Dendro reaction teams, this makes Dori even less viable. At best, Dori is an average unit.
Should You Pull for Dori in Genshin Impact Version 3.0?
There’s been a recent leak that may change your mind if you really planned to pull for her in this patch.
This comes from a reliable leaker and they claim we’ll be getting Dori for free in Version 3.2. She’ll likely be given away as an event reward in 3.2 just as Collei was in Version 3.0 Graven Innocence event. If you just wanted to play her character due to her amazing design but didn’t want to spend your primos for her average kit then this is your sign to turn away.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how good her kit is if you already love her character and character design. All players have different habits and if you are one who cares more about the character and design than how she scales in the meta then by all means we encourage you to go for her fun electrifying personality. That said, we still strongly recommend not spending any money on her- she’s a shrewd businesswoman and she’s already scammed our Traveler once.
