With any new region comes new flora and fauna. Since Dendro is a brand-new element being added to the game in the upcoming Update 3.0, Genshin Impact has released some official data on the kinds of Dendro flora and fauna (mostly flora) we’ll experience in the lush rainforests of Sumeru. These will introduce some exciting new environmental mechanics for our players, and we can’t wait to experience them ourselves.
Dendro Flora and Fauna in Sumeru of Genshin Impact
The following are some of the Dendro-themed regional flora and/or fauna that have been revealed from the land of Sumeru. These will have unique mechanics special to this land, and players will have to go adventuring and exploring the deep lush rainforests to experience these for themselves.
Four-Leaf Sigils and Clusterleaves of Cultivation
Oftentimes in your exploration of Sumeru, you’ll find these floating 4-leaved sigils, which according to the data, you can use to travel long distances provided you can manipulate the elements. We’re still not sure what this exactly means and why it was specifically worded as such since all playable characters can manipulate the elements.
The Clusterleaves of Cultivation is a special Dendro flower that carries these sigils and spreads them around in specific locations upon coming into contact with the Dendro element. These Clusterleaves are scattered across the land, and players can use their ability during adventuring to make traveling and exploring easier.
Tri-Lakshana Creatures
We already saw these in plenty of Sumeru previews, trailers, and teasers. These special giant mushrooms can react with the elements that react with Dendro to produce special effects in the overworld. They have three forms- Scorched, Normal, and Activated. The databook says both Pyro and Electro can be used to activate these special plants, but according to trailers, only Electro characters can conveniently use this mechanic. When activated using Electro, it allows your character to bounce up on it to make a tall jump. In its normal state, it can be used for moderate height jumps to get over cliffsides and edges.
Tri-Yana Seeds
These are similar to Tri-Lakshana creatures in that they have three states- Normal, Scorched, and Activated. The seeds seem to be floating, giving off the impression that they are creatures and not just simple flora- but then again, we’ll never be sure until we see them for ourselves. Their movement mechanics suggest these will be used for solving puzzles in the region.
The Truesense pulse is released mainly by Tri-Yana seeds when they come in contact with Electro. The Pulse reveals certain hidden items and objects in its vicinity, which is another indicator of its use in the overworld puzzles and challenges of Sumeru.
Flowers that Restore Stamina
Sumeru will have a one-of-a-kind mechanic where plants will restore stamina for travelers. This will be greatly beneficial for the exploration of the Sumeru region. However, considering how we’re used to exploring, we cannot be sure how this mechanic will come into play effectively to be useful. Perhaps there will be race challenges like the Graven Innocence Event spread out across the land, but this is just speculation.
Dendrograna
We already covered the uses and functions of Dendrograna, but we’ll discuss it here in brief. Dendrograna is similar to Electrograna because it will aid our active characters in battle. These will be found in branches scattered across the land of Sumeru, and players can pick them up to assist them against enemies and solve various puzzles and challenges. Dendrograna will also be useful against the Withering as it can be used to destroy the Withering Branches.
