Split Screen in Overwatch 2?
No, Overwatch 2 has no split screen support for local play. The only way you can play with other people is online. This is applicable for both PvP and PvE game modes. While this is certainly disappointing because the first one didn’t have split screen support either, so Overwatch has always been positioned as an online competitive game rather than a local one – and while that may change in time; at least right now, Blizzard doesn’t feel pressure to do anything about it.
Due to the intense online competition of Overwatch, a split-screen functionality is unlikely to be included. The split screen play would presumably only be included in the less competitive game types if the developers did decide to do so.
For now, players of Overwatch 2 will only be able to enjoy local co-op play through the game’s online mode. Queueing up for various online modes with friends can be done, although it may prove difficult to get past the numerous performance bugs and alarmingly long queue times.
