You will need food to survive on the deserted terrains, and what better way to get food than to grow it yourself. In Dinkum, you can grow your food by getting the fruit you wish and planting them in your garden. But first, you will require a shovel to dig the soil for planting. To get a shovel, you will need an excavation license first. You can buy an excavation license by visiting Fletch and obtaining a license. But buying a license will require permit points, and the only way you can get points is through doing various activities around the island. Once you get your license, head over to John’s to purchase a shovel for 1,200 Dinks.
Once you have your shovel, head over to your garden and use the shovel on the soil. This will pull up some of the soil, leaving behind a small pit to plant your fruit. Equip any fruit you wish, then plant it into the hole. Use the shovel again to cover the hole. You can grow your food this way, but it will not contribute to any farming achievements.
