How to Melee in God of War
To melee in God of War, you need to first sheathe the weapon you have in your hands and then, you can simply use the buttons on the mouse to perform the melee attack. As mentioned earlier, we will update the post with the exact controls once the game releases.
On the PS4, you can sheathe the weapon by pressing the right or left of the D-pad. R1 and R2 buttons can be used for punching. On the PC, it may be the right and left buttons of the mouse. For most of the enemies you encounter in the game, the bare fists of Kratos will deal as much damage.

In the end, it all depends on your preference, if you would like to behead enemies or smash their faces with your bare hands.
