Pokémon Go is running the second half of its holiday event currently in which Trainers can get their hands on Bergmite, a new Ice-Type Pokémon.
Bergmite and its evolution Avalugg is currently roaming the Pokémon Go world, and Trainers are running around trying to get some for themselves. Along with the new Pokemon, Trainers can also come across the holiday versions of their favorite Pokémon, like finding a Spheal with a green scarf or a Pikachu in a Santa Hat. You can also find various Ice-type Pokémon in abundance during this time. In this guide, we will see where and how to catch a Bergmite in Pokemon Go.
Pokémon Go – How to Find a Bergmite
The Pokémon Go holiday event has already commenced its second part, and has started from 23rd December and will be ongoing till 31st December. Trainers can get a free Egg if they take a swipe at a PokéStop for the first time. New Pokémon can also be got in the Field Research rewards and also at Wild Encounters. If you are a Trainer who is looking to add more Ice-type Pokemon to your Pokedex, then this event will give you a higher spawn rate for that.
To find a Bergmite, there are two ways to do it. You can either encounter them in the wild or get the eggs to hatch them. Either way, it will take a bit of time and patience to find one.
If you want to increase your chances of coming across the Bergmite in the wild, you can use one of the two items, namely, the Incense or Lure Modules. If you are going to use the Incense, you can effectively increase the spawn rate of all Pokemon for a limited time. This effect only lasts for self. If you are going for the Lure Modules, the effect will also last for other players in a specific radius and can be applied for PokéStops too.
While using the egg route, Bergmite can spawn if you can hatch a 7km egg. If you have a Super Incubator, you can decrease the distance it takes to hatch it. You will also need to clear out whatever eggs you have inline to get the Bergmite egg.
If you haven’t had time to find the Bergmite during the event, you can still get your hands on them after the event as well, as the Bergmite will be available throughout the game. The only drawback is that the spawn rate will decrease to get them, or any Ice-type Pokémon for that matter, after the holiday event is over. This will make finding them a bit more challenging, so it is best to get them while you can. You will need 50 Bergmite candy to get it to evolve into Avalugg.
That’s all there is to know about the Bergmite and how to get it. Unfortunately, there is no shiny version of Pokémon yet, so you will have to wait till it is officially announced in the game.
