The quickest, but not always the easiest, way to farm XP in Rogue Legacy 2 is by doing Challenge Rooms. You can find these challenge rooms in the form of portals while exploring the biomes. These portals are bonus portals and are set apart from the main ones. The ones in Citadel Agartha are near the starting portal. If you cannot spot it, reset the world till you can gain access to the Challenge Room.
Once inside the Challenge Room, your objective would be to defeat the hordes of enemies that will come at you. There are three stages to clear, and each stage has several waves of enemies. Clearing the Challenge will net you around 400 XP. If you wish to farm more XP, then you shouldn’t complete the Challenge room, otherwise, you will head back to your world. At the end of the Challenge Room, you will receive a chest that will mark the end of the quest. If you do not open it, the game will take you back to your last autosave along with your updated XP. Then, go to the main menu to continue the game, which will take you back to the Challenge Room along with your newly gained XP. You can continue playing the Challenge Room an infinite number of times this way and farm as much XP as you need.
Another way to get XP quickly is to get the Trophy Room upgrade. You can unlock this upgrade at the Mansion. After unlocking it, you will be able to earn +25% XP, if Trophy Room is upgraded to max level.
