If you are approaching a boss fight and are not being able to summon any of your spirit allies, there could be a few issues you can look into. The first thing to check is if you have enough FP to use that particular Spirit Ash in battle. If you do, then you will have to check if there is a gravestone symbol on the bottom left of the screen. Usually, it would be white if it is active. If that is available, you can use your summons here. You should also have plenty of summoning bells on you to activate a spirit. Also, some players have noticed that turning off Furlcalling Finger Remedy can help activate summons since you cannot use both, summon for NPCs or players as well as a summons for Spirit Ashes. Also, if you had an invasion before summoning Spirit Ash, then it would be disabled for some time.
Some players have mentioned that restarting their router, turning off the internet, and playing on offline or mobile Hotspot seemed to help fix the issue with the summons. Switching the game from online to offline, then back to online also helped. You can also try to force quit the game, uninstall and reinstall the game, or continue playing on offline mode. You also cannot use the Spirit summons in all areas, and you will have to through the fogged entrance and into the boss arena to use it.
These are just some ways to reactivate your Spirit Ash summons in case it is blacked, greyed, or crossed out. There isn’t a definitive fix for it yet, so you will have to wait for the next patch update or contact the support team if it is not getting resolved.
