After hunting down Mages in Salt and Sacrifice, you might run into them again while exploring the world. Having Fated Tomes and starting Fated Hunts can help you overcome the uncertainty of which boss you will face while exploring. You will find Fated Tomes while exploring Salt and Sacrifice, and you can use those to start Fated Hunts.
To use them, head back to Pardoner’s Vale and speak to Runereader Diedela. After handing over the Fated Tomb, you will be able to unlock daily hunts. If you are running low on salts, this is the best way to level up. You will be able to figure out what boss-type you are going to battle, and also use them to generate XP. You will also get rewards for completing these daily hunts, so if you are running low on resources, this is one of the ways you can farm for them. Losing a hunt will make you lose those resources, and you can try again once you have your hands on another Fated Tomb.
