You will need to sign a couple of treaties with opposing factions to get some benefits for your city. In this guide, we will see how to forge a treaty to help reach an agreement with other factions in Dune: Spice Wars.
What Is a Treaty and How to Initiate It in Dune: Spice Wars
Initiating treaties for trade is one of the essential components of gameplay in Dune: Spice Wars. Here we will see how to go about it in the game.
Trading is essential to make friends out of foes and get something you want in return. To trade, you will need to form a treaty. Treaties help keep the other faction’s best interest in mind, helping you build up a proper rapport. There are three types of treaties you can forge between you and your faction of choice; namely the Open Borders Agreement Treaty, Research Treaty, and Trade Treaty. Along with said treaty, you will also need to send some supplies. You can choose any one of the six resources to send to the faction along with the treaty. You can select between Spice, Plascrete, Solari, Intel, Agents, and Influence. You can check which resources will benefit your allies by looking at the bar in the middle. If it turns red indicates that the treaty will be received unfavorably, while yellow will be acceptable.
Now that you have decided on your treaty and resources, you can select which faction you would like to work with. You can select any one of the four factions found on the top right corner of the screen. After selecting who you would prefer to trade off with, select your treaty agreement and your resource. Later on, in the game, you will be able to exhort military pressure and force the treaty on your opponent faction by unlocking the Military Threat Development, but this will sour your relationship with them and they might turn hostile to try and remove the threat. This will also jeopardize your treaty.
