In the official Pokémon Legends Arceus trailer, there is a scene where a Poké Ball can be thrown out of battle too. It is hinted that you do not necessarily have to get into a Pokémon Battle to catch the Pokémon. If you are out there for research and don’t have a lot of time to fight it out to weaken them and catch them, which is the traditional method, you can now just get close to them and try your luck by tossing your Pokéball at them. This would probably apply to weaker or low-level Pokémon and probably you will need to weaken any Pokémon that does not want to get caught.
The Battle concept in Pokémon Legends Arceus remains the same, where you will have to use your Pokémon against the enemy to bring them down. You can fight other Pokémon out in the wild rather than in an arena.
The design of the Hisui Poké Ball is also a bit different. While other Poké Balls seem to be made of various metals or alloys, the Pokéballs available here are made of wood. There is a metal latch that closes the Poké Ball after capturing a Pokémon and emits a steam puff if successful, similar to the blinking light.
