Through a news release from the Epic Games CEO, it has been announced that the developer of Fortnite and the toy production company LEGO have entered a long-term partnership, which comes as a surprise. The partnership, according to the LEGO group, aims to develop a safe space where children can play and grow easily. As the internet can be a toxic place for kids, these two companies have joined forces to shape the futures of children while reassuring parents that the youngsters can be creatively immersed in digital experiences. They can learn skills at a young age such as teamwork and communication which will help them later, as the CEO of the LEGO group, Niels B Christiansen, has claimed.

By giving children the tools they need in order to foster their creativity while confined in a safe space, they can grow under the positive gaze of their caregivers. Putting childrens’ safety first is something that all gaming companies should be aiming towards, as it is in their best interests to nurture the growing minds of the next generation through challenging yet harmless play.
Age-appropriate digital platforms are something that is becoming more and more difficult to grasp hold of, but Epic Games is confident about their expertise, and along with LEGO they will strive towards building such games. Both Fortnite and LEGO place creativity at the forefront of their gameplay, and while the online space isn’t always safe, care has been taken to ensure that children are motivated to keep themselves clear of negativity.
The two companies seem to have a common goal which they will, no doubt, work tirelessly together in order to create a secure virtual world for the younger gamers of the next generation.
