Reddit is used by millions of users worldwide for a range of reasons and the social website is known to be harsh on spammers. Accounts getting banned is a common occurrence. So, when you try to load your favorite sub and get the Reddit error ‘Something went wrong. Just don’t panic’ or the Reddit White Screen, or some other error, the first thing you think is my account banned.
Refreshing or visiting other subs do not help and you get the same error message, ‘Sorry, we couldn’t load posts for this page.”
There are several reasons why you could be seeing the error. If you are seeing this message on all subs and you are unable to access Reddit at all, it means there is a server error. Unless you have repeatedly violated Reddit policy or attempted to circumvent a sub-ban, this is likely caused by an issue on the server end and your account should be fine.
At the time of writing this post, there is a known issue that’s impacting Reddit users. The Reddit status page on Twitter said, “Identified: Error rates are elevated and requests are failing. A cause has been identified and a fix is being implemented.” Here are the two tweets.
A similar error started to occur on the 5th of this month. Usually, it does not take more than a few hours for issues with the server to be resolved. But, rest assured, if you are seeing this error message at the time of writing this post, it’s caused due to a problem on the server end.
Something you can do from your end is to verify your internet connection, which may be fine and the cause is on the Reddit end. Just do something else while the problem is resolved.
It took only a few minutes, but the problem has been resolved with Reddit. If you are still seeing the error, let us know in the comments.
