How to Get the Renaming Deed in Sea of Thieves
Getting the Renaming deed to rename your ship is not too hard, but the process needed to get it might take some time. Also, the Renaming Deed can only be bought with Ancient Coins, which is the Sea of Thieves’ premium currency.
You first need to head over to any of the Outposts nearby, then visit the Pirate Emporium. You can find the Pirate Emporium above the Order of the Souls tent. If you want an easier way, you can also select the Emporium from the main menu before you start your session.
Once you are in the Pirate Emporium, find and talk to the Shopkeeper NPC. A new menu will pop up with all the items available in their shop. Click on the tab called Captaincy to find the Renaming Deed. It will cost you 499 Ancient Coins. There are two ways to get Ancient Coins, one way is to get them through the Plunder Pass, and the other way is to spend real money.
How to Use the Renaming Deed in Sea of Thieves
You cannot change your ship name while in the game, and you can only do it in the main menu. Once you are in the main menu before your session, go to the My Ships tab under the Adventure option. Over here you will locate all the ships that you currently own. Select the ship you wish to rename, then find the option called Rename Ship. Use your Renaming Deed to change the name of your ship. While changing the name, there are a few rules to follow. You cannot use obscene language in your name, you cannot use numbers and special characters, and cannot end or start it with a space. Your ship name can only be 20 characters long or less, so you should keep that in mind while trying to pick a name.
