While Morale is quite a significant part in the game, there is not much mentioned in the tutorial. Players are left to fend for their own, but it’s important to note that you will need to manage your Morale in the game. This is affected by all the encounters and battles that you have.

If your Morale is too low, the crew members will leave your team. You will understand if they are unmotivated if they complain about wanting to die after a successful battle. Avoiding demotivation is vital to the propagation and growth of your crew.

You will need to focus on keeping them safe, such as letting your crew members evade fires that break out on your ship. Make sure not to have them put out the fires themselves, and carve out a path through which they can escape safely.

Food is necessary to keep your crew members happy and satisfied, so make sure that you always have at least 35 food in your storage at all times. You can also upgrade your oxygen for extra food production by spending points that you earn in the game.

If you’re not happy with a particular crew member’s morale, you can freeze them in order to sell them to a station and exchange them for a new crew member. Sometimes, a demotivating team member needs to be simply discarded to save the rest.
