Beating Rufus the Foreman in V Rising awards you with the ability Blood Rage. When this ability is enabled, you and the troops with you gain a power boost and deal more damage. Rufus uses three main types of attacks. Blood Rage – he and the troops with him will glow flaring red and deal more damage. The second attack is a trap that Rufus throws on you. If you are close to Rufus, he will throw the trap on himself and dodge and roll. Getting trapped in the net will ready Rufus for the basic attack, which is the crossbow. Getting hit with the crossbow will stagger you and can only be broken with quick movement (Space Bar). If you get trapped in the net, use any of the ability to free yourself (‘C’ ‘R’ or ‘Q’).
When you enter the area, either from the bridge or the back, go straight to Rufus without going through any other troops. Approaching the fight via the bridge is the best option as troops in the other area won’t be alerted. Keep the fight in the area when Rufus is. Covering too much distance during the fight will alert the other troops.

Dodging the attacks of Rufus is quite easy and should not be a problem. Always try to stay behind the boss and keep attacking. Don’t focus on the other enemies. Keep your focus on Rufus and keep moving to not get hit by other archers.
Do not get hit by the basic attack of the boss which is the crossbow, it will stagger you and lay the ground for subsequent attacks. Getting hit by the Crossbow will deal a lot of damage and even more so when the boss is in the Blood Rage mode.
