Path of Exile has just released one of the biggest updates in the game’s history that has seen the game surpass it’s concurrent player record on Steam. The new record stands at 229,337 players. Path of Exile: Settlers of Kalguur brings a wide variety of new content, but the crash problem with this update has become a major issue. There are several quests that leads to the game crashing for a lot of players. IN this article, we will address the Path of Exile 3.25 Crashing at Oil Fields and Oak Fight. Here are all the fixes you can try to resolve the issue.
Fix Path of Exile 3.25 Crashing at Oil Fields and Oak Fight
There are various fixes that you can try to resolve the in-game crash in a specific scene. Here are all the fixes you should try.
Reboot the Game
If this is the first time you have an error, reboot the game and see if that makes a difference. Many times a simple reboot of the PC and the game suffices to resolve any glitches that could be leading to the crash.
Try to Avoid the Scene that Leads to Crash / Avoid Bear and Oak Warcry
When in the oil fields, many players crash or disconnect right after the bear’s war cry. If you have faced a similar issue, try avoiding the bear and the game should not crash. The game has bears in other areas, but the game may not be bugged in those areas.
If you are crashing during the bear’s war cry, another fix is to stay a bit far away from the bear and that seems to not crash the game. The same applies to the Oak’s Warcry.
You may also attempt to kill it before it gets a chance to do the Warcry, using the meteor shrine can help with that. Similarly, if there are specific scenes, areas, or enemies that are causing the crash, try to avoid them.
Play in Fullscreen Mode
Another fix that’s worked to bypass the Path of Exile 3.25 Crashing at Oil Fields and Oak Fight bug is to play the game in Fullscreen. For some reason when you play the game in Fullscreen, the game does not crash. To enable Fullscreen, click on the Options from the start screen to go into the Options Menu.
- Go to the Graphics tab
- In Mode, choose Fullscreen
Switch to DirectX 11
If you still have the crash after trying all the above fixes, you can try changing the renderer settings and see if that makes a difference. The available options are DirectX 11 & 12, and Vulkan. Try all 3 options and check if the game still crashes.
Wait for Patch
PoE developers are pretty quick at releasing patches to resolve major game issues. There was a patch a few hours back that fixes a lot of crash issues, but if you still have the problem, wait for another days and the next hotfix should resolve the issue.
