Four game modes can be found in Hell Let Loose Vietnam: Warfare, Offensive, Conquest, and Domination. Although the key objective in all of them is capturing the objective and working together in teams, each one has its unique approach. It is important to know about the specifics of each mode so you can act appropriately in the game.

All Game Modes Explained

In Hell Let Loose Vietnam, there are four different modes of gameplay: Warfare, Offensive, Conquest, and Domination. While all four of these modes are based on objective capturing and teamwork, their ways of conducting the combat are different.

Warfare

Five objectives are distributed on the map; however, only one objective located in the centre of the map is active at the beginning of the game. Both teams need to capture it. After one team captures the centre objective, the nearest objective towards the enemy side appears for control. In this way, the game can be played from one side of the map to the other side as both teams try to push their opponents from the map.

The objective will be captured by your team when it has more capture weight in the active sector compared to the enemy’s. The active sector consists of four squares around the objective. The strong point itself gives additional capture weight, and therefore, fighting near the strong point is important.

In case you manage to capture all five objectives, then the game is won by your team instantly. However, if the timer expires first, then it will be the team that has more objectives under its control that will win. There is one thing that you should always keep in mind, and that is the fact that you cannot just go on the offensive and attack.

You also have to defend your own objective; while flanking helps, do not forget about the space between both objectives.  This area can become a major battlefield, and leaving it open can give the enemy a quick route towards your position.

Offensive

The reason why Offensive differs from other game modes is the fact that both teams have a certain role in the game. One team will attack, while another one will defend. The attacking team starts its journey at one of the ends of the map and should capture the objectives step by step, from one sector to another.

When the attacking team captures the objective, it obtains permanent control of it. There is no chance for the defending team to capture it anymore. It means that the defending team should retreat to the next defensive sector and be ready for another wave of attack. The battle thus goes across the map as the attackers try to capture one defensive sector after another.

There is a certain time frame given to attackers in order to capture a particular sector. If they manage to capture it within the time frame, the time for conquering the next sector will start over. Otherwise, the defenders win.

There are two things worth noting when playing Offensive. The first one is the capture weight, which can only be used inside the strong point circle. The surrounding grid squares don’t count towards capturing the objective as they do in Warfare. The second point is to redeploy as quickly as possible and work on the next sector.

Conquest

Both teams start with a certain amount of morale. Your main goal is to drain the enemy team’s morale before they drain yours. Capturing and controlling objectives is an important part of doing this.

Because multiple objectives can be active at once, your team has more freedom when deciding where to attack and defend. One squad might be attacking an objective while another squad is defending a completely different area of the map.

Deaths are also more important in Conquest because every player who dies costs their team morale. The same applies to vehicles, so keeping your tank alive and winning firefights can directly help your team win the match. The first team to completely drain the enemy team’s morale wins.

Domination

When the game starts, both HQ sectors will be locked, whereas three middle points are unlocked. These three objectives can be captured in any order. If a team captures two out of three middle objectives, then the enemy HQ becomes unlocked for capture. The winning condition for a match is capturing the enemy HQ sector by one team.

However, the enemy HQ sector might be re-locked due to loss of control over the majority of objectives. This implies that you should not only attack the enemy’s objectives but also defend your own captured ones since you have to maintain control over them. In case neither side manages to capture the HQ before the time runs out, the winning condition is control over the majority of captured points.

There will be plenty of activity on different objectives rather than a single frontline in the Domination game mode. A sneaky Recon squad or a well-planned flank can make a huge difference, which is why defending your objectives is just as important as attacking the enemy’s.
