QTE will test your reflexes during certain scenes which involve life or death situations. In The Quarry, the QTE’s are not that abrupt, but they do appear without warning, which can overwhelm any player if they are not used to it. But the action sequence to complete it is not too complex, so players can complete it without any difficulty.
The main function of the QTE is to use your left analog stick to align the external circle with the internal one. There will also be some directions on screen that you should follow to successfully complete it, such as moving the analog stick up, down, or to the sides. If you face difficulties, you can change certain settings in-game to make the events easier to follow. You can change options like the color-blind settings, enabling Choice Timer, or changing the speed of the QTE. All these can make it easier or apt to follow according to your playstyle. Below are all the options available that you can change under the settings menu.
- Color Blind – Changes the in-game visuals to suit players who are color-blind.
- Choice Timer – Gives players more time
- Simple QTE – Gives players the option to press any random button
- Interrupt Speed – Change speed time for interrupted actions.
- Button Mash – Enables/disables quick button changes during QTE
- QTE Speed – Change action sequence speed for QTEs
- Aim Assist – Gives assistance during sequences where aiming is required.
