Halo Infinite dropped on Steam unexpectedly prior to its release date on the 8th of Dec. The current launch of the beta can be considered shorts of a release as your progress in the Battle Pass will carry over to the release of the game and Season 1 has launched with the beta. As with any beta, Halo Infinite is not perfect too. There is a range of issues with the game including the Halo Infinite ‘Unable to join’ and ‘Connecting to server’ loop.
While these issues are concerning, the devs have a much bigger problem. The game crashes a lot for a variety of reasons and it’s leading to players getting banned for abandoning with error – User is banned. Keep reading to know more about the Unable to Join – Request Timed Out in Halo Infinite.
Fix Halo Infinite Unable to Join Error
When a player dies and is forced out of the game as a result they cannot rejoin into the same game using the Social menu. Trying to join a friend leads to the “Unable to Join” and “Connecting to Server” errors loop. The issue has been acknowledged by the devs and listed among the bugs under investigation. So, we may get a patch soon that fixes this problem with the game. But until then, there are some things you can do to avoid the error message.
One of the fixes shared by the devs is to retry matchmaking. On your second or the third try, the bug may not be triggered and you may get into the game. The second fix that’s worked for users is to reboot the game and hope the bug does not occur this time around.
While these are not much of a fix, you cannot do anything else at this point. Checking your internet connection and basic troubleshooting such as rebooting the PC/console and the network hardware may also help in some cases.
All in all, this is not a problem you can fix permanently on your end. The game’s just come out and the devs must be working on the first patch, which should fix a lot of these issues with the game.
