Fortnite is one of the most popular battle royale games in the market with over a million downloads across various platforms. After the recent update v18.30, a lot of players are running into matchmaking issues in Splitscreen mode. If you are wondering why it’s happening and if it’s a bug? The devs recently tweeted about the issue saying they are aware of the matchmaking issue and provided a solution. Here is the tweet and the solution with it.
While the devs suggest restarting the device to fix the Fortnite Matchmaking Issue in Splitscreen Mode, it does not work all the time for all users. A large number of players who tried the fix report it ineffective, but there are also players who found some relief, and the matchmaking worked after they queued again post restarting the device. Some users had to restart a few times before the Splitscreen mode worked for them.
Even when the restart fix works, it’s a pain as players have to restart the device after every game, which can become cumbersome after a while.
Some users also find themselves in an infinite loading loop as they queue in the Splitscreen mode.
While the issue is definitely on the game’s end. Ensure that the players on the console are signed into their respective accounts. Sometimes an issue with a controller can prevent it from connecting – verify that the controllers are charged and working.
Finally, try to change the region for the matchmaking and attempt to play all the modes to see if you can get the matchmaking to work.
For now, the only solution that seems to work is to restart the console. The devs are aware of the issue and a fix should be pushed anytime in the next few days. We will keep an eye on the situation and update the post to reflect the current situation.
