Gems are used as an upgrade material, and can give a passive effect to the gear you have selected. Gems can be added to the equipment without the help of Blacksmiths, and each gem gives unique effects to your armory. The effects can range from added strength or slight increase in health, to even special skills.
There are two types of gems you will come across, normal and legendary gems. You can gather normal gems from completing bounties or dungeons, as well as through exploration. Normal gems come in three forms, Yellow, Red, and Blue. Each color represents a different stat, and it can boost your offense and defense in varying amounts. Legendary gems, on the other hand, can only be gotten from clearing Elder Rifts and upgrading your Battle Pass. Having a Legendary gem can help increase your gear score and give you varying effects.
