Mike Ybarra, Blizzard’s current president, has promised to publish more information on their upcoming Warcraft 3: Reforged title soon. The president replied to a fan request for more info on Twitter. The team will be revealing more details on the upcoming title next month. In his tweet. Ybarra said, “You’ll hear something from them soon (in June).”

The developers went silent about Warcraft 3: Reforged since the last patch which came out a little over a year ago in April 2021. Fans have been waiting for the remastered release of the title for a long time at this point, and the devs have done very little to keep the hype for this upcoming title up. This negligence has pushed the remastered to the lowest-scored game of all time on Metacritic.

Blizzard has been neglecting the title for quite some time. The devs promised a roadmap of developer updates to the title back in May 2020. It has been almost two years since the declaration, but fans have not gotten it yet. Some other basic and requested features like ranked play, leaderboards, and player profiles are also missing in the Reforged update to Warcraft 3.

However, there are some solid reasons for this state of the massively popular title. Blizzard cut expenditure and management on the title some time back. Also, Classic Games, the studio which reportedly was working on Warcraft 3: Reforged, was disbanded. No one knows which studio(s) are working on the game these days.

Warcraft 3’s success set the platform for MMOs like World of Warcraft to succeed. If introduced, Warcraft 3 custom games spun off the entire MOBA genre back in the day. Warcraft 3 was a massive influence on gaming and the industry as a whole. It is extremely sad to look at the current condition of the game.
