When you encounter the Gnarled Door on the west side of the tunnel, the only way you can get past it is if you have the Whispering Mask. Luckily, you can find this item right next to the door. But there is a catch for whoever is going to wear it. Once you pass through the doors, whoever has the mask on will face the Ephemeral Whispers. The longer the person wears it, the more manic they get. Eventually, they will turn on their team and start attacking them.
To get over this situation, equip the Whispering Mask on someone who has high Wisdom perception. Characters who have Wisdom Saving Throws and the Protection Against Evil and Good spell will also help. Just cast the spell on the wearer before entering through the door. You need to keep the mask on to pass the other four masks in the room, otherwise they will attack you without the mask. Once you are past the area, you can quickly discard it.
