Aesop’s Challenge is quite complicated if you are not prepared, as it will test your timing and precision to advance the levels. Before you start, it would help you out if you have Vault Rune and also play as the Barbarian. You can use Vault Rune’s improved high jump and mid-jump abilities to progress through the levels, as well as Barbarian’s high health in case you get hit along the way.
The room will be filled with swinging lanterns that you will bump into on their way up the platforms. To avoid getting hit, use Vault Rune to gain enough momentum to rally upwards. You will soon meet a flaming spinning wheel, and you have to get through the small gap between the flaming lanterns to keep going up. It will take a couple of tries and hits, so having a large enough health bar will help you out.
In the next room, there are a series of doors that you have to open, but using your attack button will launch projectiles your way. The Barbarian Shout can help you quickly access all the doors without the need for pressing the attack button and putting yourself in harm’s way. Then swing and dash in combination to make it through the level. There are some red lights that you need to deactivate, but that will attract enemies, so be prepared for the unexpected.
Keep going through the levels while avoiding projectiles and enemies. You will soon reach an area that will be stacked with knights and will attack in unison. Use Barbarian Shout to freeze them and escape to the higher platforms. Continue to deactivate the lights and fight enemies till you reach the end of Aesop’s Challenge and get Aesop’s Tome from the statue.
