If you have yet to capture a Bagon, you can find them all across the mountainsides of Paldea, but the most common area to find them is in South Province (Area Five) They can also be spotted in caves and mines, but they spawn quite rarely here. If you want to improve your chances of finding a Bagon, you can have some Dragon Encounter Power Sandwiches to find them quickly.
Once you capture a Bagon, you have to level it up to get Shelgon. You will get Shelgon once Bagon reaches Level 30. You can level up Bagon by using it in battles, giving it XP candies, and using the Auto-Battle feature in Let’s Go. After you get Shelgon, you need to further level it up to level 50 to get Salamence.
If you wish to not evolve Bagon, and would rather capture Shelgon and Salamence, then there are very few places where you can explore. Shelgon can be found in the wild if you explore the caves in South Province (Area Six), but they are quite rare to spot. Salamence, on the other hand, cannot be found in the wild, and you need to evolve Bagon or Shelgon to get Salamence.
