Resident Evil 4 Remake has more than a dozen guns that you can use to take down the monsters you encounter in the game. Two of the best weapons are the Riot Gun and the Striker. So, you may wonder, which is better: Riot Gun or Striker in RE4 Remake. Both of these weapons can be purchased from the merchant for different prices. The Riot Gun can be purchased in chapter 6 at the price of 28,000 Pesetas. The Striker can be purchased in chapter 10 at the price of 38,000 Pesetas.

Both of the weapons cost a lot of currency and as such you may only be able to choose one in your first run. Another reason you would want to choose only one of the two is because both the weapons are shotguns.

While both the guns are good once you get the upgrade and which gun is better is a hard to answer question, we suggest that you choose the Riot Gun for a bunch of reasons. Again, depending on your preference, the Striker can be as good. But, a general consensus in the community is that the Riot Gun is far superior to the Striker in terms of firepower, but given you get the exclusive upgrade.

Both the guns are designed for a similar purpose and since you unlock the Riot Gun in chapter 6 and have more practice and upgrade time, it may be another reason you should use this weapon. 

The Riot Gun also has a bit more range and power when compared to the Striker. The striker is also a great weapon, but at a very close range. If the enemy is absolutely close to you, the weapon can be even better than the Riot Gun as shown in the below Reddit thread, but everything put on the table, the Riot Gun comes out as a winner.
