This classic RPG, released back in 2006, has made a return to the latest platforms. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered comes with an enhanced combat style now, plus the graphics are nothing short of mind-blowing. Bethesda brought back the original vibes with the improvement that players always wanted. 

The weapons in this game haven’t changed, and acquiring some of the strongest weapons in the game can be quite the task, considering the massive size of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. However, there are specific ways you can get these weapons, which will make your gameplay a lot easier. Charging up to enemies with a potent weapon also induces confidence, and it’ll make your levelling-up journey less challenging. 

Strongest Weapon in Oblivion Remastered 

Some of the strongest weapons in Oblivion Remastered can range from items purchased from merchants or a combination of unique items scattered across the map. Of course, these weapons are obtained in various ways, which will be discussed in this guide. But apart from that, they are beneficial due to the base damage and other traits they offer. As you start playing the game, you’ll come across a lot of weapons, but these are simply superior and more powerful than those.

Umbra  

The base damage of this one-handed sword is 28, which is the highest of any weapon under this type. You can trap the soul of your enemy for 120 seconds upon hitting them with the Umbra, and this is the special enchantment of this weapon. 

  • Type: Sword 
  • Base damage: 28  
  • How to Unlock: You will need to head over to Vindasel, an Ayleid ruin besides the Imperial City. Upon reaching those ruins, you must beat a Bosmer warrior named Umbra to unlock this sword.

Goldbrand  

This is indeed one of the strongest weapons in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Goldbrand is a one-handed, katana-type weapon which deals 22 points of fire damage to enemies thanks to its special enchantment.   

  • Type: One-handed katana 
  • Base damage: 25  
  • How to Unlock: Complete the Daedric quest of Boethiah to unlock the Goldbrand. You need to fight against a plethora of enemies and prove yourself to be worthy in order to receive the katana as a reward for completing the quest. 

Apothesis 

This weapon can be used against most of the enemies in the game because it quite powerful and highly effective. Apothesis doesn’t discriminate, whether it’s the guards or goblins, you can quickly finish them off with this staff-type weapon. 

  • Type: Staff 
  • Base damage: 33 fire, 33 frost and 33 shock effect  
  • How to Unlock: You can buy this weapon from Rindir’s Staffs, a shop in the Imperial City Market District. However, depending on the level of your Mercantile Skill, the price of this staff will vary. 

Volendrung

This is huge Dwemer warhammer which drains 5 health points for 20 seconds from your enemy. This two-handed warhammer can also paralyse your target for 3 seconds, making it highly effective and powerful against hordes of enemies. 

  • Type: Two-handed warhammer 
  • Base damage: 20  
  • How to Unlock: Complete the Daedric quest of Prince Malacath to unlock this weapon. 

Ebony Blade  

This is another katana-type weapon which can absorb eight health points from your enemy. This Daedric artefact can also silence your enemies for 10 seconds, stopping them from using any magic.

  • Type: Two-handed katana 
  • Base damage: 23  
  • How to Unlock: Complete the Daedric quest of Mephala to obtain this two-handed katana.

Hatreds Soul  

This bow-type weapon can drain speed from your targets and is one of the strongest weapons in Oblivion Remastered. Hatreds Soul isnalso capable of dealing heavy base attacks, depending from 15-24 on your level. However, make sure you obtain this weapon after you reach level 19 to get the best version of Hatred Soul.

  • Type: Bow 
  • Base damage: 15 to 24 depending upon the level of the player 
  • How to Unlock: To unlock this weapon, head to the Chorrol Oblivion Gate. 

Shadowrend  

This is one of the strongest two-handed swords in the game. It can deal a damage of 2-30 points due to the Damage Health enchantment. This also makes the target 15% vulnerable against magic 30 seconds. But keep in mind that once you reach level 30, you’ll obtain the best version of this weapom so try to unlock it after you’ve reached level 30 in the game.

  • Type: Two-handed sword 
  • Base damage: 12 to 28 depending upon your level
  • How to Unlock: This weapon is unlocked during the Symbol of Office quest. 

Mace of Molag Bal

This is Daedric weapon which has the ability of absorb five strength and magicka points from your enemy. Mace of Molag Bal is a one-handed mace with a base damage of 21.

  • Type: One-handed mace 
  • Base damage: 21  
  • How to Unlock: Visit the Molag Bal’s Shrine and finish his quest in order to get the Mace of Molag Bal. To complete the quest, manipulate a do-gooder into attacking you. Once you’ve completed the quest, this mace will be received as a reward for completion. 

Redwave  

This weapon is great as it drains 15 points from your enemy if you hit them which the Redwave. And that too happens for six seconds making this cutlass great for strategic offense. 

  • Type: One-handed cutlass 
  • Base damage: 11  
  • How to Unlock: You need to complete the Ghost Ship of Anvil quest in order to unlock this cutlass. 

Getting some of the strongest weapons in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered isn’t that challenging compared to some other role-playing titles available in the market right now. However, that doesn’t deny the fact that unlocking these weapons can be quite the task. Considering the mechanics of Oblivion Remastered, unlock either of these weapons mentioned in the list as soon as you can, because they can make the game a lot easier for you. The enchantment of the artefacts depends upon your level, so having a good weapon and fighting your way up the ranks can be helpful for you towards the end game.
