To locate the bookseller, make your way to the northeast section of the map. You have to head north past Joja Mart and the museum. Behind Joja Mart is a flight of stairs that leads up to the bookseller called Marcello. Of course, like most vendors, you need to be aware of Marcello’s arrival. The bookseller arrives at random, and there are two ways to check when the store is open. You can check your calendar to find dates marked with a hot air balloon, or check the notification at the bottom left corner of your screen to know when Marcello is in town. There is no timing for the shop, so once the vendor arrives, you can visit the bookstore anytime to buy books. You should remember that the bookseller only appears twice every season, so if you have an eye on a book, then it is best to purchase it when the store is open.

Of course, besides buying books, you can also trade books with the bookseller. If you have books to sell, you can purchase various items from him, such as

  • Slime Incubator
  • Fairy Dust
  • Pepper Poppers
  • Deluxe Bait
  • Wood
  • Coal
  • Monster Musk

These require particular books for trading, so if you have the required books, you can purchase the above items. Each time Marcello is in town, his wares will change. Luckily, you don’t have to worry about buying the same book twice, as duplicate books will be marked with a distinct icon. The only book you can repeat purchase are skill books, which can be stacked for boosts and mastery points.
