How to Unlock the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley

Like most equipment, you need to unlock the crafting recipe or find it in the overworld. The same applies for the Dehydrator, and you can purchase the blueprint from Pierre’s General Store in Pelican Town. It will cost 10,000 gold coins to buy it, then collect the below materials to craft it

  • 30x Wood – chop down tree logs and stumps
  • 2x Clay – mine clay nodes at the Ginger Island dig site or till the ground with a hoe
  • 1x Fire Quartz – Can be found within The Mines (80+ level), Skull Cavern, or mined from Magma and Omni Geodes

You can also claim a dehydrator for free if you pick the Mushroom Cave as your farming spot

How to Use the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley

Place your dehydrator after you are done crafting it in any suitable location around your farm. To use it, place 5 fruits or mushrooms inside it and you will get them back as dried fruit and mushroom. The only fruit that doesn’t dry up is grapes, as they turn into raisins instead. The dehydrator can be used to turn inedible fruit into edible ones, such as the case with Rhubarb. It takes 1 day to convert fruit and mushrooms into dehydrated form. Below are all the items you can get from the dehydrator.

  • Dried Mushrooms – 5x positive Energy/Health Mushrooms
  • Dried Fruits – 5x Fruit
  • Raisins – 5x Grapes
