There are two schools of magic in Elden Ring—namely Sorceries and Incantations—which are both vital to gameplay. Sorceries are for directly dealing damage to your enemies, while Incantations usually summon more power to you and let you take your opponent down. You will have many opportunities to use both of these types effectively in combat. This guide will take you through the process of how to get the Black Flame Ritual incantation in Elden Ring.

How to Get the Black Flame Ritual Incantation in Elden Ring

 The Black Flame Ritual Incantation will help you summon a circle of pillars around you which are made of black flame, and these will increase the damage dealt to your enemies. You can the power of this Incantation further by using the Godfrey Icon talisman.

You will have the chance to get this incantation, after you have progressed through the game far enough to reach the Crumbling Farum Azula. To achieve this, you will need to get through the to the Mountaintops of the Giants and take down the Fire Giant boss there. Past the area where this boss fight occurred, you will find an NPC called Melina who you will need to interact with in order to trigger the Crumbling Farum Azula.

You will need to play through the Crumbling Farum Azula until you reach the Dragon Temple which you can enter. There is a curved staircase here where you can descend and meet the bosses called the Godskin Duo. There are two bosses you will have to fight at once, namely the Godskin Apostle and Noble, which might prove to be rather difficult. The trick is to focus on taking down one enemy at a time. Avoid the other’s attacks until one of them is down, and then deal with them. Once you have completed the fight, you will receive the Black Flame Ritual incantation.
