Icarus is a shooter survival set on an unexplored planet, hence it is only natural to come across wildlife that is not your average pet. One of the most dangerous creatures out there is the Mammoth. If you want to hunt one down, you would have to search the snowy plains of the arctic, where they have taken refuge.
Where to Spot a Mammoth in Icarus
While extinct on earth, Mammoths were seen thriving in the arctic. According to lore, they were brought in to repopulate Icarus, since their size and strength seemed advantageous. Also, another well-known lore states that a disillusioned geneticist decided to release this mammoth variant into the wild, which then migrated to the snowy regions.
How to Hunt a Mammoth in Icarus
Mammoth hunting is seen as a very dangerous task to take on alone. Their size and massive strength can do huge damage to the player if they are hunting alone. As a precaution, it is always best to take a group of friends with you to help take it down. Even then, without a proper strategy, it may seem impossible to get the last hit. Some players have found that if you search out a big rock that you can jump on, the mammoth cannot reach you. You can also try kiting it to lure it to some rocks, thus trapping it.
After a successful hunt, you can skin the mammoth to get resources. You can also get the Mammoth tusk, which is just as valuable and worth taking the risk for.
