Pokémon Go has announced its New Year Event to say goodbye to 2021 and bring in the New Year. Niantic has announced that they will be having special themed events and new items that they can get in the game. The New Year Event will start on the 31st of December till the 4th of January 2022. Trainers can get special Festive Pokémon from the wild or eggs. You also have a chance of running into the party hat versions of Wobbuffet, Gengar, and Pikachu and its evolutions. Bonuses
The shiny variant of HootHoot will be available for a limited time during the New Year event. You will also get certain bonuses throughout the event like incubated eggs will require just half the distance to hatch, or earning twice the amount of candy and stardust to help you hatch Pokémon. You can also view some amazing fireworks in the game throughout the event.

The Season of Heritage will continue onwards in Pokémon Go, giving you more quests and with it more rewards.
Raid Boss
Raid Bosses will still be available in their costumed forms, taking in the 1 and 3 star Raid Bosses slots. Kyurem and Mega Abomasnow will remain in the 5 and Mega Raid Boss slots.
