The Last Of Us 2 came out in the year 2020, and since then studio Naughty Dog has been keeping quiet about a possible sequel. During a recent interview with The New Yorker, Neil Druckmann came forth and mentioned towards the end of the article that they are working on their next project. This time, it will be structured more “like a TV show”. This seems like an indirect nod to the Last of Us TV show, which is slated for release early next year.
Naughty Dog’s co-president Neil Druckmann has just wrapped up working on The Last Of Us TV series with Craig Mazin of Chernobyl fame, and it will be set to premiere on HBO. The article mentions all the details that viewers and fans can expect, as they try to break the curse of video game adaptations bombing on screen. This is a bold step to turn a video game into a series format, but Druckmann mentioned that they would otherwise not fit 15 hours of gameplay into a meager 2 hours. The TV series will star Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
Coming back to the rumored new title, fans speculate it could be the next installment for The Last Of Us. Judging by the aforementioned article and how closely Druckmann worked with the writers and producers, it only makes sense that players could expect to follow Joel and Ellie soon. Some fans speculate that it could also be a new IP altogether, but both of these rumors are not confirmed. All we know is that Druckmann now has a team of writers for the first time, so it could be something big in the works,
