Dune: Spice Wars is the latest 4X real-time strategy game developed by Shiro Games, released on 26th April 2022. This game is grounded in Frank Herbert’s groundbreaking Dune universe, and the main objective of the players is to battle and take control of the desert planet Arrakis.
Dune: Spice Wars is centered around spices and the Spice market. Managing these two things is the primary objective of a player as they are the source of your in-game income. This guide will help you know how to manage the Spice Market in Dune: Spice Wars.
Spice Market Management in Dune: Spice Wars – How to Manage?
Spice Market is the most important part of the game, and players need to manage it strategically as it changes every now and then. Also, the spices have a frequently changing Tax structure. Therefore, after you get some resources and set up a Refinery and Harvesters to Harvest Spice from those resources continuously, try to track it properly. There are a few things to take care of and track. You can track things by observing the numbers shown on your screen’s top left side.
You’ll get to see the total production and the results of your Harvesters’ labor. These things are shown under the spice icon. There are other two boxes which are equally important- CHOAM and Stockpile. CHOAM acts as a spice market, and you can sell a portion of your total production of spice to this CHOAM. The price always varies here.
On the other hand, you have your Stockpiles that serve two different purposes-
- If you miss the last date of the Imperial Tax, the tax amount is deducted from your stockpiles. If you don’t have enough spices in your stockpile, you’ll have to face the consequences. So, always try to have enough spices in your stockpiles.
- Another role of the stockpile is profitable for you. You can trade spices from your stockpile to the factions who need those spices.
If you want to stockpile most of the spices, you can switch the amount by using the slider on the left side. Additionally, you can Stockpile the whole amount of spice produced if you don’t want to sell them to CHOAM. Stockpiling the spices saves you from facing the punishment of missing the Imperial Tax; also, you can stock them for some time if you feel the market is not good. Sell them later when the market is good again.
You’ll get a Spice Report Button on your screen. Clicking on it will give you detailed information about the current Imperial Tax, next month’s exchange rate, ‘currently expected stocks for next tax,’ etc. Calculate things well to get the amount of spices you need to stock.
