Both the Spider-Man games met with tremendous success on the PlayStation. Sony recently confirmed that the original Spider-Man game from 2018 has already sold over 33 million copies worldwide. Following Sony’s recent trend of launching their games on PC, both the Spider-Man games, Spider-Man (2018) and Spider-Man Miles Morales (2020) are coming to the platform this fall.
Sony already has confirmed a bunch of details on the PC port of Spider-Man Remastered. The game will be released on Steam and the Epic Games Store (probably) on August 12 this year. The remastered version made an initial release on the PlayStation 5 in November 2020, alongside the release of Miles Morales.
The re-release of the title on PC will optimize the game for features the platform can support. This includes support for DirectX ray tracing and customizable graphics options. But, Sony is yet to publish detailed information on these customization options.
Sony also released a reveal trailer of the upcoming Spider-Man Remastered running on PC at 4K resolutions.
Nixxes Software is developing the PC port for this remaster. Sony reportedly purchased the studio last year to develop PC ports of their exclusive titles. Nixxes is porting both the game and the expansion “Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps” story expansion.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also coming to this PC this year. However, Sony has not revealed a release date for this game. The game was also released in 2020, which is less than the 3-year gap the company is currently following before releasing their games on PC. So, this could suggest a 2023 release too. But, upon release, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be the first PS5 game to make its way to PC.
Sony did not reveal any more information on the upcoming PC ports during the short section in the last State of the Play event. But, we expect more information on the game as we get close to the release date.
