Pokémon Go’s Season of Heritage XP Challenge is here, and players can complete all the tasks to get a handful of rewards, including a Gloomy Avatar Hat for completing all 15 of them. In this guide, we will see what tasks are available in the Challenge currently and the rewards in Pokémon Go.
Pokémon GO: Season of Heritage XP Challenge, all Tasks, and Rewards
Pokémon Go’s Season of Heritage pays homage to the upcoming Pokémon Legends Arceus, by building the entire season around all the classic Sinnoh Pokémon that will be available during the challenge. We will see how to unlock the XP Challenge, all the challenges available, and its rewards.
First off, this Challenge is not free, as you will need to buy the Pokémon Go Johto Tour Ticket before January 10th to start the challenge, and the Tour Ticket costs real money to get. You cannot use your Poke coins to do the event, so players who are playing for free are out of luck on this one. If you are still interested in doing the challenge, you can buy the ticket before January 10th and you will have to complete all the challenges before January 31st. During the event, you can find all the Pokémon from the Johto region as well as its shiny variants as well.

How to complete all Pokémon Go XP Challenge
As with every game, earning XP is going to take a while, especially in the short amount of time that is allocated for the event. To earn XP quickly, you can do the following.
- Catching Pokémon is a sure-fire way to get XP fast, especially if you are catching Pokémon that you don’t have yet.
- Excellent Throws and Curve Balls are great to grind XP.
- If you have unevolved Pokémon lying around in your storage, now is a great time to evolve them.
- Visit all the Pokestops and Gyms, even the ones you have not yet been to.
- Sending and opening gifts will also grant you XP points.
- Team up with another Trainer and get the Best Friend Status.
- Beating Raid Bosses and Gym Defenders will give you an XP boost.
- Use Lucky Eggs to double the XP you earn for 30 minutes.
- Your “First Catch of the Day” also counts towards earning double XP throughout January.
Once you are through with all 15 Tasks, your ultimate prize will be the Gloomy Hat. It is not certain if the hat will be available after the event is over, so grab it while you still can.
