Getting across the many areas of Monster Hunter Rise is one of the game’s main charms, especially with its emphasis on acrobatic mobility with Wirebugs. However, pursuing monsters from area to area might be time-consuming at times.
While the game has always had a fast-travel system, the Sunbreak expansion introduced a new (though restricted) mode of transportation: Buddy Recon.

Unlocking Buddy recon in Monster Hunter Rise
Before you may utilise Buddy Recon, you must first get through the Sunbreak content and gain access to Elgado Outpost. Then, interact with the people in town and finish the lesson for the Switch Skill Swap ability. You may now chat with Nagi the Buddy Agent to access the Buddy Piazza menu. Select the Meowcenaries tab, followed by Buddy Recon.
You may send a Buddy to a Recon Point on the standard game maps without completing any further steps, however certain maps will have undiscovered spots to uncover. You won’t have any Recon Points for the expansion maps yet, and you’ll have to find them on hunts or expeditions.
Unlike Sub-Camps, you can utilise them without completing a particular task.
Working of Buddy recon in Monster Hunter Rise
Buddy Recon is another option for rapid movement during hunts, although it is more limited than using Sub-Camps. To utilise it, dispatch a Buddy from the Buddy Piazza in Elgado Outpost or Felyne Chief Kogarashi in Kamura Village to one of the available Recon Points.
However, you may only send a Buddy to one Recon Point each map. To utilise a Buddy Recon Point during a mission, simply open the map as you would for standard quick travel.
The Buddy Recon option is available from this screen by selecting the map’s Recon Point rather than one of the Sub-Camps. You can only utilise Buddy Recon for rapid travel once every mission, and it costs 100 Kamura Points, so use it carefully.
So in this guide the purpose of Monster Hunter Rise was to unlock and use Buddy Recon. For more information on the game may be found in our guides section.
