In Dying Light 2, players have been exploring the game’s post-apocalyptic world, where they can kill zombies and scavenge for items while they finish their main storyline quests. Just like its predecessor, the survival horror game is set in a zombie-infested world where the protagonist has to parkour through the map, using a variety of weapons and ammo to protect themselves. One of the most convenient and powerful weapons of the game is the Crossbow. However to reload it, you need ammo—and you can collect the blueprints for the ammo so that you can craft them with Craft Parts. This guide will take you through the process of getting all kinds of ammo for your crossbow.
Crafting Crossbow Ammo (Freeze Bolts, Lacerating Bolts, Stun Bolts, and Impact Bolts) in Dying Light 2
While Dying Light 2 is melee-focused with very few guns in the game, they have a lot of bows and a crossbow for ranged attacks. You can unlock your first bow after a certain point in the game, and until then you have to rely on your trusty baseball bats or hammers.

For bows, you can carry only 10 arrows at a time, but you can always craft more, as long as you have the Craft Parts to do so. It is the same for Crossbow ammo, called Bolts. There is a variety of Bolts and each type requires a different set of materials to craft.
Once you have unlocked the PK Crossbow as the Tier 4 reward, you can get basic ammunition of 10 bolts with 10 Scraps and 1 Feather. Scraps are found in plenty all over the map, while Feathers can be found in birdhouses on rooftops.
For the special bolts, you need to purchase the blueprints at any Craftmaster with some Old World Money, after which you will be able to make the following items with these Craft Parts:
Freeze Bolts – 10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 1 Oxidizer
Lacerating Bolts – 10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 3 Blades
Stun Bolts – 10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 9 Cans
Impact Bolts – 10 Scraps, 1 Feather, 3 Weights
Try out the different types of bolts on the infested to deal specific types of damage to them. If your crossbow has degraded and it no longer works the way it used to, you might need the Korek Charm. Check out this guide on Where to Find the Korek Charm Blueprint in Dying Light 2.
