Cult of the Lamb is a rogue-like game created by independent developer Massive Monster. Release date: August 11, 2022, on Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S; Cult of the Lamb follows a lamb who was spared from death by The One Who Waits – how long will it take before they return that favour?
This mechanic was showcased in a new video from Cult of the Lamb, which almost functions as a tutorial for how to start one’s own cult. Players must first defeat an opposing religion to recruit followers by exploring its roguelike elements. Upon defeating that religion’s false prophet, there will always be another follower ready to join your cause.
Customizing those inducted into the player’s cult is also possible when they are indoctrinated into it – allowing players to create and modify their worshipers in any way they choose. Once the follower joins you in the cult, you must take care of their needs.
In this guide, we’ll see how to cook food and avoid it from getting burnt in the game.

Cooking Food in Cult of the Lamb
You must first gather some cooking fire before cooking the food. This usually requires:
- 5 Lumber Wood
- 2 Stones
Start mining to get the above items. To mine for these items,
- Go to Hallowed Ground.
- Now look for trees for lumber and rocks for stone.
- Once you’ve obtained enough of them, press the X key repeatedly until you collect all you need.
Gathering all the necessary ingredients will allow you to construct a cooking fire on the ground and prepare meals for your people.
Cooking a Basic Berry Bowl
A Basic Berry Bowl is one of the earliest meals you can make for your followers in the game. It requires six berries you’ll find while picking them up off trees.
A Basic Berry Bowl has:
- 15% chances of pooping instantly by the followers.
- 60% ability to feed your stomach.
Avoid Burning the Food
A metre will be running while the food is being prepared. To avoid overcooking of the food, hit the cook button (Press X) when the metre reads green. Otherwise, your food will become burnt and unusable for consumption. Remember this while cooking the meals so you don’t have to start over from scratch.
This is about the cooking aspect of the game, Cult of the Lamb. It has been in its demo for quite some time and is all set to come out on the 11th of August.
