Before you can start using spells, you need to equip the right weapon to cast spells. The Wizard and Cleric will need a magical staff or spell book to help them with that. While the Wizard will use the staff as a primary weapon, the Cleric has the option to use it as a secondary. You should make sure that you swap out your primary for a secondary weapon if you wish to cast spells as a cleric.
After that, you need to get some spells to use. You need to unlock the Spell Memory option and equip it in the Perk and Skill tab to get the spell tree. You can equip two Spell Memory to equip more spells in your tree. Currently there are 5 spell slots in the spell tree, and depending on how many Knowledge points you have, you can equip more spells. The higher the spell tier the more knowledge it will take. To increase your knowledge, you need to find the right equipment and jewelry that will give you knowledge boosts.
By default, the wizard and cleric will come equipped with 12 knowledge points. You can check the cost taken by adding spells to your spell tree by checking the cost limit section below the tree. You can also arrange these spells in the order of when you want to use them by dragging and dropping the preferred spell into the spell tree first. The order in that you choose to place the spells will be reflected in the Spell Memory Priority below the spell tree.
Now that you have your spells equipped, you can use them in the game. Hold down E or Q to bring up the spell wheel, then use the mouse to hover over the spell that you want to cast. Hold down the right mouse button to charge the spell, then release it to shoot the spell. You can also click the right mouse button to release an uncharged version of the spell.
