Elden Ring is one of the biggest titles of this year, and after a lot of delays finally, it was released on 25th February. This open-world RPG has got a record amount of crowd from the moment it releases. This shows how excited and eagerly the players were waiting for this game.
Like every survival game, players die and respawn in Elden Ring as well. Players are aware that it is inevitable to die in the game, especially at the early stages when players are not accustomed to the game and don’t have proper weapons and resources. But what happens when you die in Elden Ring? This guide will help you find this answer.
Death Mechanics in Elden Ring Explained
Like every other game, players will die out of various reasons in Elden Ring. Boss fights or enemy attacks are one of the most significant reasons. But if you are confused about what happens if you die, or if you lose your progress or not, then read this guide.
Well, if you die in Elden Ring, you’ll lose some progress for sure. But you won’t lose your runes. Runes are the in-game currency of Elden Ring. Once you die, in the hands of the boss, or some other reason, you’ll spawn at the last Site of Grace you went. You have to make your way to the location where you died to collect your items. It involves fighting with some enemies on your way.
But remember, you only get back the runes you collected before you died. If you fail to collect the runes before you die, you’ll lose them and get back the runes you were carrying with you.
Another option to respawn in Elden Ring is to respawn using the Stake of Marika. These are the statues of a female that acts as respawn points if you die within its range. Generally, you’ll find these statues in areas where the probability of death is high. If you die within the range of Stake of Marika, you’ll get two options- first to respawn at the last Site of Grace, second, respawn at Stake of Marika. If you respawn at the Stake of Marika, you’ll respawn near where you died. It’ll be easier for you to get to the location and get back your things.
That’s all you need to know about how the death mechanism works in Elden Ring. If you also want to know what happens if you die in Elden Ring, check out our guide for help.
