The pouch is an extremely useful feature in Elden Ring. It lets you assign necessary items which you can access with the press of a button during combat or exploration. The game does not allow you to assign items to your pouch from the inventory, which is kinda weird. However, there is a faster way to assign items to your pouch. From Software implemented this very carefully so that you can switch items on the fly while fighting the meanest bosses in the game.
In case you missed the tutorial, you can access the pouch by long-pressing the ‘E’ key if you are playing on the mouse and keyboard. Then you can use the arrow keys to use any of the four items. In case you are using an Xbox controller, you can simultaneously press the ‘Y’ button and any directional button to consume/use any of the items.
If you are playing on a PlayStation, you can simultaneously press the triangle Δ button and any directional button to consume/use any of the items.
How to Assign Items to Your Pouch?
Assigning items to your pouch can be done very easily with the press of just a few buttons. First of all, press the Esc key on the mouse and keyboard, the ≡ (menu button) on the Xbox controller, or the Menu button on the Dualsense/Dualshock 4 controller. That will open a menu like this.
Remember that your game is not paused, so do not attempt this while you are mid-combat. Be extremely fast if you have no other option but to assign some items to your pouch.
In the top-right portion of the menu, you can find the pouch. Four slots can be populated with four items. You can access them with the arrow keys marked alongside the slots.
Press F on your keyboard on any empty slot. This will open up your inventory. You can assign any item to the respective slot from here.
After you are done selecting the item, hit the ‘Esc’ or menu button (on controllers). This will drop you back into the game.
Now you can access the items in your pouch with the press of a button.
press the esc key on the mouse, what?
The pouch is on the right side, not on the left.
