As an action role-playing game from Luminous Productions and Square Enix, Forspoken is set for release on PlayStation 5 and Windows on January 24, 2023. It revolves around the main protagonist, Frey Holland, a young woman transferred from New York City to a fantastical planet called Athia. In order to survive and find her way home, she uses magical abilities.
Despite the narrative pollution occurring in Athia, the map of Athia is literally dark until you visit a certain tower in Forspoken. Let’s see in this guide how to unlock the shaded parts of the map in Forspoken.

How to Unlock Shaded Parts of the Map in Forspoken?
Forspoken’s Shaded Areas can only be unlocked with a Belfry or Refugee. Below are the details:
With a Belfry
There are always Belfries on the map and their icon is always circular with a symbol. When you interact with a Belfry, you’ll be able to see a shaded map, all of the local activities, and have a great view of the surrounding area.
In the Refugee
You can unlock activities and POIs in Forspoken by reading the books in the Refuges. Athia’s Refuges are secure havens where you can rest and craft. Often, a book will be found directly before the bed chamber. If you read it, you will discover Refuges in other places.
