Even though I am not really a fan of sports simulations, I played WWE 2K22 and the game is far better than the previous title in the series in terms of the visual quality and the structure of characters. The game is also well-received among the Steam fans as the game stands on a very positive review. However, that does not mean there isn’t any issue with the game. A lot of players have encountered the WWE 2K22 GRAPHICS DEVICE REMOVED GPU Not Responding error.
The complete error message reads, “GRAPHICS_DEVICE_REMOVED: The GPU is not responding to any more commands. This is probably because an invalid command was passed by the calling application.”
It’s anyone’s guess that the issue is with the graphics card and you need to fix it to have a smoother experience in the game. Here are the fixes we suggest to resolve the GPU error in WWE 2K22.
WWE 2K22 GRAPHICS DEVICE REMOVED GPU Not Responding Fix
There are a bunch of solutions you can try to resolve the error. If you are lucky, you will resolve the error with simple solutions, if not, you may have to tweak the registry settings. Here are the solutions we suggest to fix the WWE 2K22 Graphics Device Removed error.
Update/Reinstall the GPU Driver
One of the main causes of this error is the GPU becoming unstable, which can be due to corrupt, overwritten, missing, or outdated drivers. The best fix for these issues is to reinstall the driver completely. You can also update the driver but sometimes the issue may persist. When reinstalling the driver, choose custom install and then perform a clean install. A clean install will first uninstall the current driver, and then install the new.
Do Not Overclock
Another common culprit for the GPU becoming unstable is OC. If you are using any OC software to enhance the performance of the GPU it may be causing of the problem. We suggest that you revert the overclock and perform one extra step, which is to launch the game in a clean boot environment. The steps can be found in the below video. While you are here, why not drop a sub for our new channel so we can bring more great videos to you.
Reduce Texture Quality and Other Game Settings
If the game is still crashing after trying the above fix, you may want to run the game at the lowest settings, especially the Texture quality. If your GPU is failing to provide the game the required power that may be the cause of the issue. Ensure that you meet the minimum specifications to play the game.
Limit FPS and Run in Windowed Mode
In an attempt to provide more resources for the GPU and strain it lesser, you can try to limit the FPS from the NVIDIA control panel. Also, go to the in-game settings and run the game in Windowed mode rather than fullscreen.
Alter Future Frame Rendering
If you are an NVIDIA GPU user, then you can set the future frame rendering to 1 and that may resolve the issue for you as reported by a few other players. To alter this setting, you need to open the NVidia control panel and locate the settings. If you are having trouble finding the settings then comment in the post and we will help.
An Issue with the Game
If none of the above solutions worked, it’s quite possible that the problem may be with the game itself and you will have to wait for a patch for the issue to be resolved. We know that 2K is aware of the issue and there may be a fix in the upcoming patch for 2K22 GRAPHICS DEVICE REMOVED GPU Not Responding.
