Ping and FPS are everything in AAA shooters. The smoothness of your gameplay is determined by these two metrics. Additionally, many players of COD: Warzone continue to complain about FPS drops and stuttering since the launch of Season 4 Reloaded.
Warzone is a standalone title that does not require you to own the main game, which is ideal for players looking for new experiences. Previously, there was only a three-player mode, but many new modes have been added. Caldera Crash, Rebirth Island Iron Trials, and Bomber modes are included in the Season 2 update. There is also a search and deploy event that will run for a set period of time.
We’ll learn how to resolve these Call of Duty (COD) Warzone Battle Royale Lag Fix and Stuttering-related issues in this article. The developers are aware of the problem, which has been reported on Reddit and the MW forums, and it should be resolved within a few hours or days.
Possible Fixes for Warzone Season 4 Reloaded Stuttering and FPS Drop on Xbox and PC
If Warzone is stuttering, the first thing you should do is check that you meet the system requirements to play the game. Once that’s cleared, here are some solutions you can try.
Check System Requirement
This is only applicable to PC users. To run the game smoothly, your PC configuration should be between or higher than the recommended settings. If that is not the case, you may have to compromise on graphics and FPS.
Minimum Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 7 64-Bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-Bit (1709 or later)
- Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent CPU
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 2GB / GTX 1650 4GB or AMD Radeon HD 7950 for video
- HDD: 175GB HD space RAM: 8GB RAM
Recommended
- Windows 10 64-bit (latest Service Pack)
- Intel Core i7 4770k or AMD equivalent CPU
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB / GTX 1660 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580 video card
- RAM is 12GB.
- 175GB HDD storage space
Clear Xbox Reserved Cache
It’s worth clearing your cache on a semi-regular basis because while a cache is a useful tool, like any technology, it can become inefficient over time. Follow the below steps to clear Reserved Cache on your Xbox Device.
- Navigate to the main Settings menu by pressing the main Xbox button on your controller.
- Look for ‘Devices and Connections > ‘Blu-Ray,’ > ‘Persistent Storage.’
- select the ‘Clear’.
Unfortunately, this is the only fix we have for Xbox Users.
Set Higher priority
This is an old-school method of increasing FPS in specific games; it only affects CPU-intensive games.
- To open task manager, press CTRL + Shift + ESC.
- Locate Call of Duty and right-click > Details
- Now, right-click on the process’s.exe file and select “high priority.”
This prioritizes your game over other Windows applications and gives you a small boost.
Update Graphics Drivers
Check for graphics driver updates on your Windows PC and install the most recent version to ensure that no updates are pending at your end. A graphics driver that is out of date or missing can cause issues with a graphics-intensive program. To achieve this:
- Right-click on the Start Menu to open the Quick Access Menu.
- From the list, select Device Manager to open the interface.
- Display adapters must now be expanded by double-clicking it.
- Update Display Adapter in Device Manager
Game Mode
If you have the game mode enabled, Windows claims that it helps optimize all-around windows processes, updates, and other windows-related stuff while running games. However, this is not correct at least in the case of windows 10. Game bar has been known to cause FPS issues. Nvidia’s Shadowplay is better for capturing game clips, so it’s best to turn it off when not in use.
- Navigate to Start > Settings > Gaming.
- Set “Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar” to off in the Game Bar.
- Now, go to the Captures tab and toggle the “Record the background while I’m playing a game” setting to Off.
- Finally, go to the Game Mode tab and turn it off.
We’ve noticed significant improvements in Windows 11’s Game Mode. We recommend disabling both Game mode and the game bar in Windows 10, but enabling this option in Windows 11.
Lower In-Game Quality Settings
The general rule of thumb for any game is that if you are lagging, you should always reduce the settings. Play around with the settings, turning down the shadows and textures should help.
