As with the previous title in the Nioh series, users are having difficulty with the resolution of the Nioh 2 CE. It’s only been a few hours since the release of the game on Steam and users are already reporting being stuck at one resolution and even though the option menu shows a range of options, the change in the settings does not apply and users are stuck with one resolution. While there are some users reporting not seeing the resolution option for their monitor. Even though they are using a 4K monitor, the game shows the max resolution as 1440p. If you are facing Nioh 2 CE (The Complete Edition) can’t change resolution or stuck at one resolution, we have some solutions you can try.
How to Fix Nioh 2 CE Can’t Change Resolution | Stuck at One Resolution
Besides the above two problems, there are a range of other resolution related problem with the game. For some reason, most of the games released by KT has one or the other graphics problem. The recent Ryza 2 from the same developer had the graphics menu missing for a few days. The first solution you can try to resolve the Nioh 2 CE can’t change resolution or stuck at one resolution is to manually edit the config file at the install directory.
In order to locate the file, follow the path C:\Users\PCname\Documents\KoeiTecmo\NIOH2
Open the config.xml file using Notepad and replace the line with Fullscreen to <DISP_MODE>BORDER LESS</DISP_MODE> in order to run the game in Windowed mode. You can alter this setting according to the resolution of your monitor and the game should start supporting your native resolution. One you have made the changes to the file, save it and set it to Read Only.
If the above does not work and you are still having issue with the resolution, it could be due to the DPI scaling. Disable the DPI scaling of the game to fix the problem. Right-click on the game’s executable > Properties > Compatibility tab > select the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings check box.
If you are still having trouble setting the resolution, a user on Steam was able to fix the issue by first setting the game to open in Borderless. Reboot the game and then change the display setting resolution to the one you want. That should do the trick.
That’s all we have in this guide, hope the resolution problem with Nioh 2 CE (The Complete Edition) is resolved. If you have a solution that we didn’t mentioned and it worked for you, share them in the comments.
